On Sunday, June 23rd Simphony School of Music and Art held first Meet and Greet concert in a series of concerts which will be held in our new school hall.
Meet and Greet concerts are meant to introduce our teachers and instruments we teach in our school.
On this occasion we heard our new violin and viola teacher prof. Mirab Babaian accompanied on piano teacher prof. Jessica Chen Shih-Jie. They performed three really difficult and technically demanding pieces from classical music history.
1. Brahms – Scherzo F-A-E
2. Brahms – Clarinets sonata
3. Saint-Saëns- Danse Macabre.
A duet by its nature requires acute awareness of the balance between piano and viola, which represent a challenging range of tone qualities. Duet of Mirab and Jessica notably maintained an impressive balance. The piano was brilliant, delicate, or soaring, as required by the music, and the viola added color and dimension. They played with finesse and beauty.
