SSMA welcomes voice students of all ages and levels. Lessons are tailored to the unique needs, abilities and interests of each student, while focusing on a healthy technique. The members of the voice faculty bring a variety of specialties, passions, knowledge and approaches to our teaching, which enables us to match a student’s needs with the right teacher.
Our teachers strive to build healthy foundations of breath support with responsible repertoire choices, tension-free singing and body awareness. Typical voice lessons involve a balance of technique and application of that technique to repertoire.
We recommend that students study music theory as part of their lessons, so that they develop as a whole musician with a broad understanding of the music itself and how to communicate with other musicians.
